History

Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University is the largest university in the Novgorod region, founded in 1993. It is located in one of the oldest cities in Russia - Veliky Novgorod. Since 1994, the university has been named after Yaroslav the Wise, the prince who laid the foundations of education in Novgorod.

More than 12 thousand students study at Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University, including more than 1 thousand foreigners from 62 countries of the world. The annual graduation is over 1.5 thousand people.

As the premier educational institution in the North-West of the Russian Federation, Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University stands unique in the Novgorod region. Established in 1993 as a pioneering "multi-university-technopolis," it was the first in Russia to integrate various universities, technical schools, and research facilities, enhancing its scientific, educational, and socio-cultural stature. Today, Novgorod State University encompasses seven specialized institutes and four vocational colleges, offering diverse and comprehensive educational opportunities.

Novgorod State University is a comprehensive academic hub comprising seven specialized institutes:

4. Institute of Continuous Pedagogical Education

5. Institute of Economics, Management, and Law

6. Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources

7. Polytechnic Institute

Novgorod State University offers comprehensive educational programs across all levels of higher education—Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD—spanning 170 programs. This includes further education and professional development opportunities, along with secondary vocational education.

The Institute of Medical Education at the university also provides extensive training for medical professionals, encompassing everything from initial medical training to advanced medical residencies.
